The campaign season is upon us and we know from recent experience that our campus is a popular location for campaign stops. Participating in the democratic process is certainly a privilege, but as public employees we have special responsibilities.

Join the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Environmental Center as it launches the new Eco-Engage Events Program on Saturday, Sept. 2, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program's first excursion will take students on a tour of sustainable and local food systems on campus and in Boulder, including ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ dining, the Boulder Farmers' Market, Boulder Food Rescue and two local organic farms. The deadline to enroll is Sept. 6.

The city manager and staff will ask the Boulder City Council next week to consider a collaborative plan with the university to develop a new hotel and conference center in the heart of the city. The center will have the potential to help revitalize The Hill commercial district and create a modern gathering place for academics, researchers and the community.
