In what may be a first-ever exhaustive study of intercollegiate student-athletes, a team of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder researchers will gauge not only fitness but also general well-being among participants. Funded by a grant from the Pac-12 Conference, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder's Public Health Program, the Integrative Physiology Department, Sports Medicine, Psychology and Neuroscience and others will collaborate, examining such aspects as how quickly student-athletes acclimate to Boulder's altitude and how healthy their sleep patterns are, for example.

Greetings fellow Buffaloes! I hope you're all well acclimated by now to the new semester and the mountain air. This week's events include the Center for Student Involvement grand opening, Study Abroad Fair and the Pearl Street Stampede.

The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Shakespeare Festival is branching out in its efforts to curb bullying among young people in ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ schools. Beyond visiting schools with its "upstander" message, the festival - in partnership with the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence, also based at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder - has created an educational video with an important message: you have the choice to make your world a safer place.

When Daphne Virlar-Knight (EBio’17) graduates in May, she will have spent four years with The Herd, one of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder’s largest student groups on campus. The group coordinates several university traditions including the Nearly Naked Mile — the largest student clothing drive at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, the St. Baldrick’s Day fundraiser for youth cancer survivors, professional development workshops and football tailgates.
