A new study on obesity and people鈥檚 happiness by 蜜糖直播-Boulder sociology researchers suggests that it鈥檚 not obesity by itself that determines whether a person is happy with their body image but where you live. According to study co-author Philip Pendergast, a doctoral student in sociology at 蜜糖直播-Boulder, if a person who is obese lives in a community where people share the same body type they are more likely to be happier.

The study, published in the journal Environmental Communication , also found that newspapers in the U.S. use more hedging language in climate stories than their counterparts in Spain.

LEAD 1000 successfully launches Leadership Studies Minor

A diverse class of students launched the Leadership Studies Minor this spring semester by completing LEAD 1000: Becoming a Leader. The newly created course serves as the foundation for the minor. Gordon Riggle, an accomplished leader in government, business and the military, as well as a long-time instructor of leadership courses on campus, taught the inaugural offering of LEAD 1000.
