NICC Winners 2023

The Leeds Sustainability Case Competition (LSCC) was started in 2001 and is organized by MBA students from the Leeds School of Business at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥.  LSCC is the premiere MBA competition focused on solving real world sustainability business cases. The competition attracts top-rated business schools and future industry leaders to Boulder, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥. LSCC is an opportunity to bring together students, executives and businesses that share a common commitment to sustainable business practices.

LSCC has a history of attracting an impressive cast of judges, with last year's panel representing companies such as Arrow Electronics, Deloitte Consulting, Navigant Consulting, CH2M Hill, NREL, Zayo Group, John’s Manville, MWH Global, Xcel Energy, and Chipotle. 

LSCC highlights include the potential of winning up to $10,000, amazing networking opportunities with MBAs from across the globe and with professionals from a wide range of industries, and the chance to compete with some of the best minds in one of the most beautiful places in the US!


 

Meet The Team

Gabriel Corradino, President of Communications

Gabe is pursuing an MBA at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder with a focus on sustainable business development. Driven by his love for the outdoors, he is passionate about merging entrepreneurship with sustainability. Gabe is dedicated to creating opportunities for dialogue around sustainable business practices. He believes the LSCC offers a powerful platform to engage with like-minded individuals and companies committed to tackling the world’s biggest sustainability challenges through innovative solutions.

Annika Cederstrand, President of Judge Relations

Annika is a dual-degree MBA/MENV student at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder, who is focused on Renewable Energy and Carbon Sequestration. Annika is driving this year's competition toward new innovations with a passion for bridging economic success and sustainability. Annika believes LSCC is a unique platform for sponsors to showcase their future-focused strategies in areas like biodiversity and clean energy while empowering students to tackle today’s complex challenges. Leading the Judge Relations team, she collaborates with industry leaders to inspire fresh, creative solutions.

Andrew Hout, President of Operations

Andy is passionate about corporate sustainability and leveraging his skills in coordination and operations to drive the event toward new heights of impact and innovation. Andy spent time during his undergraduate degree doing eco-engineering research at the University of Washington. He is currently pursuing his MBA at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder with a focus on ESG. Andy brings a wealth of experience from his background in operations, outdoor sports, and teamwork. Andy is eager to apply his coordination and operational expertise to the world of corporate sustainability. He believes that the LSCC offers a powerful platform to explore real-world sustainability challenges and generate actionable solutions.

 

Nicholas Cordova, President of External Relations

Nick is currently pursuing dual degrees in Business Administration and Urban Resilience and Sustainability at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder. With a strong background in global experiences through his military service, he brings a unique perspective to his role as President of External Relations. Nick's motivation for being part of the competition stems from his deep appreciation for our planet’s ecosystems and cultures, gained during his time overseas. He believes the LSCC offers a powerful platform to further his goal of transitioning from serving our country to serving the planet.

Mick Ryan, VP of Communications

Mick is a first-year MBA student at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder, driven by a passion for sustainability, helping others, and making a positive impact. Mick chose ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder's MBA program because he believes that understanding a problem is the first step toward solving it. He’s eager to explore sustainable business practices and ethical responsibilities, and he sees the LSCC as an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while studying.

Natalie Wise, VP of Judge Relations and Outreach

Natalie is a first-year MBA student at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder; she is driven by a passion for integrating sustainable practices into both her personal and professional life. Natalie is a healthcare clinician who decided to expand her expertise with an MBA from ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder, with a focus on sustainable operations and supply chain. She is eager to connect with innovative leaders in ESG and to highlight their insights through LSCC.

Amanda Smith, VP of Operations

Amanda is a first-year MBA and MENV candidate at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder who aims to incorporate sustainable practices into her professional endeavors. Amanda is attending ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder to expand her knowledge as she is passionate about the enhancement of public transportation systems and the implementation of high-speed railway systems. Her involvement in the LSCC will allow for collaboration and connection with others, also driven to make sustainable solutions.

Andrew Poticha, VP of Team Relations

Andrew is a first-year MBA candidate at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder, dedicated to making an impact in the CPG space by focusing on sustainability and natural & organic foods. Andrew is thrilled to step into the role of VP of Team Relations, where he’ll apply his skills in communication, content creation, and relationship management in an exciting, collaborative setting. With a background in education, he’s well-prepared to support a diverse network, ensuring clear, organized teamwork throughout the event. Andrew looks forward to contributing to this meaningful initiative and growing his expertise for a future career in business.
