Reducing the amount of desert dust swept onto snowy Rocky Mountain peaks could help Western water managers deal with the challenges of a warmer future, according to a new study led by researchers at NOAA’s Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences ( ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ ) at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder .

More than 50 students and dozens of alumni of the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder Law School will teach a lesson on the First Amendment in more than 50 high school classrooms throughout ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Sept. 11–20 in recognition of Constitution Day. Constitution Day is a national event that annually commemorates the Sept. 17, 1787, signing of the United States Constitution.

Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor will speak at the third annual John Paul Stevens Lecture hosted by the Byron R. White Center at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder Law School on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The event will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the University Memorial Center’s Glenn Miller Ballroom on the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder campus. A standing-room-only crowd in the Wolf Law Building’s Wittemyer Courtroom and nearly 100 others in an overflow room gathered yesterday as EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy and ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Sen. Mark Udall discussed President Obama’s Climate Action Plan at the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Law School.

Recently appointed U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy and ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Sen. Mark Udall will discuss President Obama’s Climate Action Plan at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Law School on Wednesday, Aug. 14. The event also will include a panel discussion with former ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Gov. Bill Ritter, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Oil and Gas Association President Tisha Schuller and Brad Udall, director of the law school’s Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy and the Environment.

Former CableLabs executive David Reed has joined the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder as a scholar in residence, the university announced today. In addition to teaching and conducting research with graduate students in ITP’s master's and Ph.D. programs, Reed will lead the development of a new research center to investigate the future of the newly forming broadband industry.

The Bryon R. White Center at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Law School will host its second annual Marshall-Brennan Moot Court Competition at the Wolf Law Building from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9.

The University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Law School announced today that it is hiring Brad Udall as director of the newly renamed Natural Resources Law Center, which will now be called the Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy and Environment.
