ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Denver Prof To Discuss Sports, Culture And Politics In ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ At Oct. 30 Lecture

Professor James Whiteside of the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Denver will give a lecture on "Sports, Culture, and Politics in ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥" Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. on the Front Range Community College campus in Longmont. Whiteside is the author of "ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥: A Sports History." A slide show will be presented as part of the program and a reception will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

Supernovae And Their History Is Topic Of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Astronomy Show

One of the most violent phenomena in astronomy – supernovae – will be the topic of a live astronomy show at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder's Fiske Planetarium on Friday, Nov. 3, and Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder astronomy Professor Richard McCray will delve into the subject of supernovae, looking at everything from ancient Chinese inscriptions to current observations of these rare stars and how new observations are used to measure the expansion of the universe.

Ten New ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder Study Abroad Programs To Start In Spring 2001

The University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder has added 10 new programs to the choices undergraduate students have to study around the globe, including Cuba, Jordan and the Dominican Republic. The new additions will start in spring semester 2001. ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder students can now choose from more than 140 Study Abroad programs in 70 countries. Programs are available in a variety of lengths, including by semester, academic year or summer. Not all choices are available for all programs. The deadline to apply for fall 2001 programs is March l.

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Researchers Show Family Helpful In Treatment Of Bipolar Disorder

Patients battling the often crippling effects of bipolar disorder now may have another ally in their fight to control the disease – their own family members. Researchers at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder have completed a yearlong study showing that patients who received medication and an experimental family-focused treatment program had fewer episodes of the disease, and longer delays before relapses, than those receiving medication and standard community treatment.

Rutgers University Professor Donald McCabe To Discuss Honor Codes On Nov. 1-2

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder and Community Food Share will host a food drive at Folsom Stadium that day to collect canned and other non-perishable food, as well as cash contributions, from fans as they enter the stadium.
