The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, or UROP , is one unique program that offers ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder students an opportunity to follow academic curiosities in every field. Designed to provide grant-writing experience, connect students to faculty and explore interests beyond the classroom, the program is open to all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder undergraduates.

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Board of Regents approves College of Media, Communication and Information degrees

The University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Board of Regents today approved 12 new ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder College of Media, Communication and Information degrees, in addition to a name change for one other degree. The vote, held today at the University Memorial Center on the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder campus, was the final Board of Regents approval required for the new College of Media, Communication and Information before the degrees are forwarded to the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Commission on Higher Education for approval. The college is now accepting applications and will offer classes for new degrees starting in fall semester 2015.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Scalia to speak at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder on Oct. 1

U.S. Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonin Scalia will deliver the fourth annual John Paul Stevens Lecture hosted by the Byron R. White Center and the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Law School on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The event will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Macky Auditorium on the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder campus. Tweets during 2013 ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ floods gave engineers valuable data on infrastructure damage

Tweets sent during last year’s massive flooding on ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Front Range were able to detail the scope of damage to the area’s infrastructure, according to a study by the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder. The findings can help geotechnical and structural engineers more effectively direct their reconnaissance efforts after future natural disasters—including earthquakes, tsunamis and tornadoes—as well as provide them data that might otherwise be lost due to rapid cleanup efforts.
