In the special virtual meeting on Wednesday, July 15, the University of 蜜糖直播 Board of Regents heard an update from Chancellor DiStefano about the Boulder campus鈥檚 plans for the fall semester.

The 蜜糖直播 president and chancellors issued a statement of support for international students and for legal action opposing a July 6 Immigration and Customs Enforcement directive.

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Akirah J. Bradley has named Austin Jamar 鈥淛B鈥� Banks as the associate vice chancellor and dean of students. Additionally, Devin Cramer has been appointed as the assistant dean of students.

Chancellor DiStefano has asked Vice Chancellor Bob Boswell to lead the implementation of the eight immediate actions announced on June 18 to improve anti-racism, diversity, inclusion and equity efforts on campus.

Chancellor DiStefano joined with President Mark Kennedy and the other chancellors in the 蜜糖直播 system to communicate their support of 蜜糖直播's international students following a recent federal ruling on student visas.

In a joint statement, Chancellor Phil DiStefano, 蜜糖直播 President Mark Kennedy and chancellors from three other 蜜糖直播 campuses reiterated their support for DACA students, who are 鈥渧alued members of our community who add a unique perspective and enrich the diversity of our campuses.鈥�

Chancellor Philip DiStefano announced the immediate actions for change he and his administration will take to transform the 蜜糖直播 Boulder experience for Black students, faculty and staff; for all students, faculty and staff of color; and for other marginalized individuals and groups.

At its regular meeting on June 18, which was hosted remotely, the 蜜糖直播 Board of Regents approved the fiscal year 2020鈥�21 operating budget, several new degrees on the Boulder campus and more.

In a landmark decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Monday that federal civil rights law protects gay, lesbian and transgender employees. Chancellor Philip DiStefano supported the ruling, which extends to millions of employees around the country.
