Intramural Official

The mission of Recreation Services (RS) is to promote overall student wellness. We accomplish our mission by providing organized and informal programs designed to engage the body and mind for the purposes of fun, fitness, social interaction, competition, skill acquisition, and adventure.

  • Learn all rules and mechanics of selected sport
  • Conduct all games in a fun, fair, and safe environment
  • Keep open communication with participants before, during, and after each game
  • Handle any conflicts that may arise with participants
  • Learn and enforce all sport rules
  • Attend required staff trainings and meetings
  • Perform other work and duties as assigned
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ taking at least 6 credits
  • High degree of initiative
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work without continuous direct supervision
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends; as well as special event shifts as needed
Intramural Officials start at a pay rate of $16.50/hour.

Student Travel Assistant

For this position, we require 10-20 hours per week and it is dependent on the amount of club travel that has occurred. Hours are flexible and can be adjusted based on the applicants schedule but would be between the hours of 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday - Friday.

  • Collect travel receipts from club officers and coaches
  • Communicate with club staff and/or club officers & coaches about any missing receipts or issues with receipts
  • Attempt to obtain refunds, tax exemption, or itemized receipts when needed
  • Prepare receipts for accounting once all of them have been collected for a specific trip
  • Update clubs general ledger with total cost of trip once receipts are ready to be submitted
  • Keep sport club staff abreast of status for travel reports
  • Make sure travel reports are submitted within 30 days of a teams trip
  • Review weekly travel card charge email each week and follow up on any outstanding charges
  • Learn and enforce all sport club policies and procedures related to travel reconciliation
  • Work cooperatively with other areas of the department to achieve established goals
  • Attend required staff trainings and meetings
  • Perform other work and duties as assigned
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ taking at least 6 credits

  • Prefer experience with accounting or an accounting student

Dance: Head Coach

The head coach will be responsible to uphold rules, policies and procedures as specified in the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Club Sport Handbook. They will be required to attend auditions, coaches/captains meetings, choreography practices, practices and competitions throughout the year. They will assist with preparing for all competitions and competition travel. They will need to help with scheduling of practices, fundraisers, competitions and travel. They will need to ensure safety of all team members throughout the season including practices and travel. This person will need to demonstrate competency in teaching, choreography and cleaning of routines as well as maintain a positive attitude throughout the season. This person will need to work effectively and professionally with administrators and collateral to help continue to develop and grow the program. They will assist in fundraising goals and opportunities. 

The head coaches of the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Club Dance Team will need to work effectively with the member-elected captains. This team is a collaborative effort and our captains are involved in all decisions made about the team.

We are looking for a coach that will be a dependable addition to our team and provide our members with valuable training and support. We are specifically looking for an applicant with a  strong background in jazz, contemporary, pom, and hip hop technique, as well as experience cleaning and giving constructive feedback on competition routines.

  • $3300 for full year
  • 6 hours per week (May include additional Sunday practices when team learns choreography)
  • Season Dates: 09/06/2024 - 04/07/2025

Interviews will be held with our current head coach and three captains for the upcoming season. A brief trial practice may be requested to showcase the applicants’ teaching ability.

Baseball: Men's Head Coach

  • Baseball knowledge and experience

Fencing: Coach

  • Pay $1,500 + fees for parking and rec pass
  • Reporting to Club Fencing student leadership.
    • Expectations include leading drills and footwork
    • Giving one on one personal lessons during practice as requested
    • Working with each weapon on technical skills
      • During free fencing time expected to be watching fencers and giving advice when appropriate
    • Coming to competition to help our fencers
  • Work Hours
    • 2 practices a week
      • Tuesdays and Thursdays
      • Flexible schedule
    • 7:30pm-9:00pm
    • Twice a week expectation with occasional Sundays and tournament dates for travel
  • Tentative start day September 24

Welcome to the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Fencing Club, a vibrant and dynamic community that celebrates the art of fencing with passion and dedication. Our club is a welcoming environment where fencers of all skill levels can pursue their passion, hone their techniques, and take part in a thriving social scene.

Practices take place Tuesday and Thursday from 7-10 pm and Sunday from 11-1pm in the rec. We offer multiple pistes, modern equipment, and a dedicated space for physical conditioning. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced fencer, our club is equipped to meet your needs and help you achieve your goals.

For newcomers, we spend the first two weeks on introductory classes; designed to demystify the sport and provide a solid foundation in fencing fundamentals. These classes are an excellent way to get started and experience the excitement of fencing in a supportive environment. Experienced fencers will find ample opportunities to refine their techniques, participate in advanced training, and become a part of the team.

Our coaches bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every practice session. They are committed to providing personalized instruction that caters to individual skill levels and objectives. From foundational techniques to advanced strategies, our coaches and club leaders work with each member to foster improvement and build confidence.

The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Fencing Club prides itself on its inclusive and supportive community. We offer a range of activities, including regular training sessions, friendly sparring matches, and local competitions. These events not only allow members to test their skills in a competitive setting but also to engage with others who share their enthusiasm for the sport. Our annual fall and end-of-year tournaments as well as our plethora of social gatherings are highlights of the club calendar, providing opportunities for social and competitive activities.

Volleyball: Women's Head Coach

The head volleyball coach provides leadership and guidance for a team of approximately 25 players as well as works alongside the president and vice president. They promote teamwork, sportsmanship, physical fitness and dedication to the sport. The team will travel to multiple tournaments in-state as well as out-of-state. This position spans the full academic year.

Essential Functions:

  1. Coordinate and supervise practices and games
  2. Promote teamwork and sportsmanship
  3. Design practice plan and help advise lineups
  4. Communicate effectively with Club Presidents, officers and players
  5. Provide advice on technique
  6. Coordinates in-game strategy
  7. Attend open gyms, tryouts, practices meetings and tournaments
  8. Lead practices three times a week
  9. Travel with team to tournaments up to five times in the fall and four times in the spring (For out-of-state tournaments hotel and airfare are paid for by the club)
  10. Support student leadership and athlete development

Qualifications

  1. Coaching at the high school level required, coaching at the collegiate level preferred
  2. Knowledge of skills for individual positions
  3. Provide references 
  4. Education: high school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  1. Requires prolonged standing 
  2. Possible demonstrations of skills
  3. Occasional physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, or push heavy objects
  4. Requires travel
  • $750-$1200 per semester
