Awards and Financial Support
Scholarships
Students who are women or who belong to underrepresented groups have a variety of scholarships available to them.
First Generation Scholarship
The First Generation Scholarship is is awarded to undergraduate students who have financial need and whose parent(s) or legal guardians do not have a bachelor's degree. During the first year, recipients are required to participate in the First Generation Scholars Program, offered through the Center for Inclusion & Social Change.
أغجاض±²¥ Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI)
COSI is a أغجاض±²¥ Department of Higher Education grant program that works to lower barriers to higher education and professional training by providing financial support and academic enrichment programs to students for up to five years. You are eligible if you are a أغجاض±²¥ resident who participates in a أغجاض±²¥ Boulder LEAD Alliance program (for example, MASP) and have a family income within 250% of PELL eligibility.
ODECE Student Support Fund
This fund provides one-time financial assistance in the form of a scholarship to undergraduate students participating in a أغجاض±²¥ LEAD Alliance or affiliate program (for example, MASP). Funds are limited, and not intended to provide ongoing support for recurring expenses.
McNair Scholars
The McNair Scholars Program is a federal TRIO program funded at 187 institutions across the United States and Puerto Rico by the U.S. Department of Education. It is designed to prepare undergraduate students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. McNair participants are either first-generation college students with financial need, or members of a group that is traditionally underrepresented in graduate education and have demonstrated strong academic potential. The goal of the McNair Scholars Program is to increase graduate degree awards for students from underrepresented segments of society.
Financial Support for International Students
Multiple sources of financial support are available for international students, at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP)
UROP is dedicated to providing equitable access to the university's research and creative resources with inclusive outreach aligned with the diversity of student experiences. Check out the Commitment to Social Justice and Equity for details.

The Campus Programs & Departmental Scholarships page provides links to a variety of campus units offering scholarships. Many provide scholarships as a component of either participation in or affiliation with their program. Some also provide logistical support and advice for finding and applying to scholarships.
Curci Scholars
The Curci Scholars program provides scholarships to Ph.D. students in the life sciences, particularly (but not exclusively) to international students.
