Overview of the Classics Program

أغجاض±²¥ Classics offers courses in language and literature, ancient history, art and archaeology, and philosophy within several programs of study at the undergraduate and graduate levels. أغجاض±²¥ Classics ranks among the most vibrant programs in humanistic studies at the University of أغجاض±²¥, a department in which students at every level are challenged to integrate the world of scholarship into their daily lives.

With more than 140 undergraduate majors and minors pursuing one of the several tracks offered within the department, ours is one of the most successful undergraduate programs in the nation. Our undergraduates claim their degrees with marketable skills that enable them to read critically, think analytically and communicate articulately.

The graduate program offers degree options at both the MA and PhD levels, with concentrations in a wide array of fields. They are taught by an internationally recognized faculty with particular strengths in the fields of Greek and Latin literature, archaeology and art history, and the history of Greece and Rome, including the period of late antiquity during the transition from the classical civilizations to the Middle Ages.
