University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder Provost Russell L. Moore today announced the four finalists selected for the position of dean of the College of Music. The finalists for the position are: Wayne Bailey, professor of conducting and instrumental ensembles, School of Music, Arizona State University; David Myers, director, School of Music, University of Minnesota; Jamal Rossi, executive associate dean, Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester; and John Schaffer, director emeritus, School of Music, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

CableLabs executive joins 蜜糖直播-Boulder, launches research center on broadband technology and policy

Former CableLabs executive David Reed has joined the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program at the University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder as a scholar in residence, the university announced today. In addition to teaching and conducting research with graduate students in ITP鈥檚 master's and Ph.D. programs, Reed will lead the development of a new research center to investigate the future of the newly forming broadband industry.

The 蜜糖直播 Shakespeare Festival鈥檚 highly praised school anti-violence tour continues in spring 2013 with a new program based on 鈥淭he Tempest鈥 that focuses on themes of vengeance and forgiveness. Created in conjunction with the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence at the University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder, CSF鈥檚 鈥淭welfth Night鈥 anti-bullying tour has now been seen by more than 22,000 蜜糖直播 schoolchildren. That inaugural program examined the problem of bullying through the character Malvolio.

The University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder today announced three finalists for the inaugural Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy. This month, the finalists will make one-day campus visits, during which they will hold public forums. Since last summer, an advisory committee has been working to identify finalists. The committee has sought a 鈥渉ighly visible鈥 scholar who is 鈥渄eeply engaged in either the analytical scholarship or practice of conservative thinking and policymaking or both.鈥

NASA鈥檚 MAVEN mission completes assembly, begins environmental testing

NASA鈥檚 Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) spacecraft is assembled and is undergoing environmental testing at Lockheed Martin Space Systems facilities, near Denver, Colo. MAVEN is the next mission to Mars and will be the first mission devoted to understanding the Martian upper atmosphere.

The University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder is ranked No. 4 in the nation for graduates serving as Peace Corps volunteers with 93 alumni currently serving around the world, the Peace Corps announced today. Since 2004, 蜜糖直播-Boulder has held a position in the top four among institutions of similar size. 蜜糖直播-Boulder is the fifth highest volunteer-producing university of all time with 2,353 undergraduate alumni having served in the program since it was established in 1961.
