Growth, responsible development and transportation issues are among the topics to be discussed at a conference sponsored by the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at BoulderÂ’s Real Estate Center. More than 350 real estate and development professionals are expected to attend the conference on Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Denver.

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder Deals With Higher Enrollment

Schools and colleges at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder will receive extra funds to handle a larger-than-expected fall enrollment, according to an announcement by ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder Chancellor Richard L. Byyny. Although the official fall census will not be taken until Sept. 10, preliminary figures indicate the fall enrollment may top 25,000, including possibly the largest freshman class in ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-BoulderÂ’s history. Freshmen may total as many as 4,220 -- or 40 more than the all-time high set in 1995.

1998 Fiske Guide To Colleges Ranks ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder "Best Buy"

The highly regarded guide to colleges is written by Edward B. Fiske, former education editor of the New York Times.

Renovated Women's Studies Cottage Takes ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder Back In Time

The Hazel Gates Woodruff Cottage, an historical landmark on the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder campus, is open this fall after a renovation that restores the buildingÂ’s place in time. The Cottage, formerly known as the WomenÂ’s Studies Cottage No. 1, was built in 1885 to house the first womenÂ’s dormitory on campus. It originally provided dining facilities for 100, sleeping rooms for 12, a bath and an office for the chaperone on the first floor.

Success Magazine Ranks ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder Program Among Best In Nation

For the fourth consecutive year, Success magazine has named the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder one of the nation's top 25 schools for entrepreneurship education. Other colleges making the list, published in the magazineÂ’s September issue, included the University of California-Berkeley, Harvard, Northwestern, Cornell and the University of PennsylvaniaÂ’s Wharton School of Business.

Avoid Delays By Knowing Routes To ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-CSU Football Game On Sept. 6

Fans heading to the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder campus for SaturdayÂ’s football game against the CSU Rams can save time and headaches by knowing in advance where they plan to park and by taking one of several suggested routes. ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Parking Services Manager Pam Greager said fans should try to arrive at least an hour before the 11:30 a.m. gametime to avoid traffic jams and to ensure getting parked and into the stadium on time. Stadium gates open at 10 a.m. “We expect a large crowd at this game because CSU is such a big rival of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, so weÂ’re encouraging fans to arrive early,” said Greager.

Bruce Ekstrand Memorial to be Dedicated Friday The media are invited to attend the dedication of a sculpture plaza at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder Friday, Sept. 5, in memory of the late Bruce Ekstrand, former vice chancellor for academic affairs. The dedication will begin at 4 p.m. and last about 45 minutes. The event is not open to the general public, but about 200 friends and relatives were invited to attend.

The University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder will hold its annual Study Abroad Fair Sept. 10 for students to learn more about the universityÂ’s study abroad programs, including six new semester-long options. ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder now offers more than 100 study abroad programs in 56 different countries.

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder Career Services Holds Fair To Prepare Students For Future Career

The Career Services office at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder will hold a Career Fair on Sept. 24 at the Coors Events/Conference Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Company booths will be on display so that seniors can meet with business representatives in advance of on-campus interviews. Underclassmen can submit resumes for internships and freshmen in particular are encouraged to attend the fair to work on networking skills.
