A five-year project to improve the lives of youth in Denver鈥檚 Montbello neighborhood will kick off Feb. 16-17 with public meetings on the Evie Garrett Dennis Campus. Community members and key leaders will gather in the community room at 4800 Telluride St. in Denver to discuss efforts to reduce youth violence to be led by the University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder鈥檚 Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence. A new University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder-led study appears to answer contentious questions about the onset and cause of Earth鈥檚 Little Ice Age, a period of cooling temperatures that began after the Middle Ages and lasted into the late 19th century.

The University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder today announced the appointment of former University of 蜜糖直播 President Alexander E. 鈥淪andy鈥� Bracken to the Quigg and Virginia S. Newton Endowed Chair in Leadership at the University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder.

For the second straight year, the University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder is ranked No. 1 in the nation for graduates serving as Peace Corps volunteers with 112 undergraduate alumni currently serving around the world, the Peace Corps announced today. 蜜糖直播-Boulder is ranked the No. 5 all-time school for volunteers with 2,317 alumni who have served in the Peace Corps since it was established in 1961.

Peace Corps Director Aaron S. Williams will give a short presentation at the University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder on Wednesday, Jan. 25, to share stories of 蜜糖直播 alumni who are currently serving overseas and discuss the importance of the Peace Corps in the world today. The presentation will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Old Main Chapel and is free and open to the public. Nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2009, Williams is the 18th director of the Peace Corps and the fourth director to have served as a Peace Corps volunteer.
