The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder is ranked No. 5 in the nation – up one spot from last year – for graduates serving as Peace Corps volunteers with 53 alumni currently serving around the world, the Peace Corps announced Feb. 18.

Francis Beckwith will serve as the Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy for the 2016-17 academic year. He is the fourth person to hold the position. Beckwith earned a PhD in philosophy from Fordham University and a master of juridical studies from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. Beckwith, professor of philosophy and church-state studies at Baylor University in Texas, will succeed Brian Domitrovic, whose appointment ends this academic year.

Students from the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder’s Leeds School of Business are offering free tax preparation services under the Internal Revenue Service-sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.

It's not too late to apply for a scholarship. The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder scholarship application process for 2016-17 is available through March 1 on the student portal. ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder also encourages students to apply for privately-funded scholarships.

Sabrina Sideris, program director of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder's INVST Community Studies, takes great pride in working with ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ students to help them learn to become engaged citizens and leaders. In fact, she was once one of those students. Sideris became interested in community-based learning and social justice when she was a ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder undergraduate (1996-2000).

University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder Provost Russell L. Moore has named Katherine Schultz dean of the School of Education effective Aug. 1, 2016. Schultz succeeds Lorrie Shepard, who is returning to the faculty as a distinguished professor after 15 years as dean. Schultz presently serves as professor and dean of the School of Education at Mills College, a liberal arts and sciences college in Oakland, California.

On Tuesday, Feb. 9, the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder released the Phase I results of the Fall 2015 sexual misconduct survey. ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder Today sat down with Executive Director of Institutional Equity and Compliance and Title IX Coordinator, Valerie Simons, and asked some key questions for our campus audience.

Mark Meaney has been elected chair of the new North America chapter of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education intiative. The organization works to inspire and champion responsible business management education, research and leadership globally.
