ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ employees are eligible to meet for free with financial professionals from the university's retirement-plan service provider. Sessions are scheduled starting Friday, Dec. 9.

The second annual Diverse Learners Awareness Week, Feb. 20 through Feb. 24, is a time for the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder to celebrate the diversity of ways in which people learn. This year's focus is diversity in the classroom.

Every year, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder teams up with the city of Boulder and Community Cycles to give out free bike lights in an effort to encourage the use of lights for nighttime biking. The giveaway event will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the UMC bike station.

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder closed its employee housing survey Monday, Nov. 21, receiving a response rate of 49 percent. The survey results are meant to provide a better understanding of employees' needs and guide decisions regarding potential housing assistance programs.

Beginning Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) express lanes change to HOV 3, requiring at least three people in each vehicle.

Service to our fellow Coloradans is one of the great joys of our work. Beyond what we do every day, we have the opportunity as well to give to the nonprofits and causes we most care about through our workplace giving program, the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Combined Campaign.

Former ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ running back Rashaan Salaam was found dead Monday night in a Boulder park. "The Buff Family has lost an outstanding young man and a great Buff today," Athletic Director Rick George said. "We are heartbroken for Rashaan and his family and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time."

The Research & Innovation Office has brought together several departments under one roof in an effort to create an environment that sparks and enhances outstanding research and creative work and encourages it to be more collaborative and interdisciplinary.

As we rush to meet deadlines during the semester wind-down, we can often get caught up in what's happening around us, or to us. It is worth stopping, taking a breath and realizing our success is truly up to us and our individual frame of mind.
