The Boulder Faculty Assembly is pleased to announce the 2023 Excellence Award winners, recognized for their outstanding work and concerted effort to make advances in the academy.

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder Professor Derek Briggs is one of just 24 scholars nationwide to be named a 2023 fellow of the American Educational Research Association, the country’s largest interdisciplinary research association devoted to the study of education and learning.

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder has several thousand student employees who perform countless services with enthusiasm, dedication and initiative. Learn about this year's Student Employee of the Year, the runner up for the award and the 35 other nominees—all outstanding members of our community.

As a visiting scholar, the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder geography professor will visit other campuses, join classroom lectures and seminars and give major lectures open to the host campus’s community.

Sarah Stoneback was already an accomplished musician when she enrolled in the College of Music master’s program in 2008. It was her experience at the college, however, that helped steer the course of her chosen career.

On two exciting nights of pitches and prizes, 10 startups brought a broad range of ideas to the stage, involving more sustainability in gardening, the downsides of social media, practical prosthetics for kids, sustainable water filters and hydroponic produce for all. Across the two events, eight teams took home a total of $20,000.
