DPS was formed earlier this year to integrate the university's robust public safety resources, strengthening existing partnerships to meet the evolving needs of our vibrant campus community. The division is led by Marlon Lynch, the associate vice chancellor for public safety.Ìý

ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder Police Department
Become familiar with the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder Police Department, a nationally accredited agency. ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥PD operates on a community policing model and includes residential service officers (RSOs), who support the campus’ residential community, providing education and appropriate enforcement on lower-level violations in residence halls, as well as community safety officials (CSOs), who provide professional staff security and other services across campus.Ìý
Threat Assessment
Threat Assessment ensures continuous monitoring and mitigation of any instances of threatening or concerning behavior exhibited by faculty, staff or non-affiliates to safeguard the well-being of our students, faculty, staff and entire university community. This department provides consultation and intervention methods and maintains a comprehensive documentation repository and facilitates the Behavior Intervention Team process.Ìý
Events & Emergency Management
Events & Emergency Management personnel provide planning and coordination of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery of natural and man-made disasters occurring on or near the campuses of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder. This department is also responsible for updating emergency response protocols, analyzing and mitigating risk for events on our large, vibrant campus, hosting active harmer response trainings and conducting safety walkthroughs, among many other responsibilities.
Flight Operations
