Event brings أغجاض±²¥ Boulder and أغجاض±²¥ community colleges together

On May 24, more than 80 أغجاض±²¥ Boulder and أغجاض±²¥ community college advisors, staff and faculty participated in the third annual أغجاض±²¥ & CC Connection event, hosted by the Transfer Initiatives (Office of Undergraduate Education) and Transfer Admissions (Office of Admissions) teams in an effort to strengthen partnerships between أغجاض±²¥ Boulder and أغجاض±²¥ community colleges.

Russell Moore, أغجاض±²¥ Boulder provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs; Amy Hutton, أغجاض±²¥ Boulder associate vice chancellor of enrollment management and chief enrollment officer; and Michael Schulman, the أغجاض±²¥ Community College System's associate vice chancellor for student affairs, offered welcome remarks highlighting the importance of supporting أغجاض±²¥ community colleges and the impact connections made at the event can have on improving these transfer pathways.

Participants engaged in disciplinary and transfer student experience working sessions to share updates, guidance and feedback on a variety of academic programs and student life areas. Discussions focused on curriculum gaps, transfer pathways and degrees with designations, communication and information sharing.

The primary goals of أغجاض±²¥ & CC Connection are to build networks and inspire action toward improvements to the أغجاض±²¥ community college transfer student experience. As an example, discussions at previous أغجاض±²¥ & CC Connection events resulted in the creation of College of Media, Communication & Information (CMCI) transfer guides for أغجاض±²¥ community college students. The collaboration between the pre-transfer and CMCI advising teams provides a clearer pathway to ideally save time, money and frustration with the transfer process.

“We look forward to hosting this event each year. We received positive feedback from both أغجاض±²¥ and أغجاض±²¥ community college participants on the benefits of continuing these conversations and the impact they can have on transfer students,â€‌ said Miki Brooks, director of transfer success initiatives at أغجاض±²¥ Boulder. “We hope to build on this momentum to include more faculty, instructors and unit leaders in future events, as well as action on proposed solutions.â€‌

أغجاض±²¥ & CC Connection 2025 is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 14. Contact Brooks to participate.
