Hellems Arts and Sciences is one of the most heavily used buildings at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder and is undergoing renovation that began over the summer. Here are three things to know about the project.

  • Opened in 1921, Hellems hosts classes for 85% of students during their time at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder.

  • The renovation project is therefore highly student-focused and will not only have more energy efficiency (a more than 50% decrease in energy usage) to help the campus meet our carbon-reduction goals but will also meet modern teaching and learning needs to help enhance student success for current and future generations.

  • The Mary Rippon Theatre will see improvements, including better accessibility. The ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Shakespeare Festival will temporarily relocate to the University TheatreÌýbuilding in 2024.

Hellems is expected to reopen in winter 2025–26. Learn more about the renovation project.
