From police chiefs Doreen Jokerst, Maris Herold: Welcome, Buffs!
Welcome, Buffs! On behalf of members of the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder and the city of Boulder police departments, we join together to celebrate the start of a new academic year.
Our departments are committed to working together to keep everyone in the Boulder community safe. As such, we collaborate on emergency notifications for life-threatening incidents that occur off campus in areas of high student population.
The is the best source of information for on-campus emergencies, campus closures or delayed starts, extreme weather and other time-sensitive life safety concerns. It’s also an important resource for members of the campus community to learn more about the university’s three alert notification levels, how to sign up for text alerts and even how to receive alerts in languages other than English.
As a reminder, all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder students and employees with Boulder addresses have been added to Everbridge, the emergency alert messaging system used by Boulder Police, Boulder Fire-Rescue, Boulder County Sheriff’s Department and Longmont Department of Public Safety.
Being a Buff is important whether you’re on-campus or off. We’re here to help keep you safe, which includes making good choices. Respect your neighbors by registering parties, watching noise levels and avoiding illegal activities which pose a threat to public safety.
We invite you to share your suggestions or concerns. If your student group or organization would like to meet with us, don’t hesitate to reach out directly. Let’s join together for a great fall semester, and go Buffs!
