Study abroad this summer and see the world without breaking the bank! Each of these programs offers affordable academic credit with a program fee of around $5,500.

Students can use residual financial aid on the programs, and there are also scholarships available on every program.  through the Education Abroad office are open to all students!  are listed on their website.

   Yerevan, Armenia   June 13–July 21    LING 4640   Apply by March 1
Discover Armenia through the perspectives of English teaching, culture learning and social justice, and earn 6 credits. Bring your teaching skills to the next level as you interact closely with English language learners during your practicum in an Armenian classroom with local cooperating teachers. Outside of the classroom explore stunning monasteries, the Garni Temple, Lake Sevan and Dilijan National Park.

The tuition and housing fee for this five-week program is more affordable than the same number of credits on the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ campus. Study with Raichle Farrelly, a TESOL expert who formerly taught at the American University of Armenia. 

   Lisbon, Portugal    June 1–23    PORT 3170   Apply by March 1
Oi, Portugal! Enjoy a traditional pastel de nata pastry as you stand atop the hills of Lisbon and look down to the Atlantic Ocean. Students will explore the history of the city from its multicultural roots in the Age of Discovery to its modern activism. Participate in a workshop on street art and learn from members of local social and cultural organizations. Understand how multicultural heritage can shape sustainable and socially responsible organizations and enterprises. 

Earn 3 credits in three weeks, and study with Marcelo Schincariol, an expert in literature and culture of the Portuguese-speaking world. 

   Dakar, Senegal    May 7–28    FREN 3400   Apply by March 1
Spend May differently this year and travel to Dakar, Senegal, for a three-week, 3-credit course! Explore social justice and global development in the context of Senegal's rich cultural heritage while collaborating with a Senegalese activist theater troupe. Discover this vibrant capital city which sits at a geographic, cultural and linguistic crossroads and is deeply immersed in global histories of African, Islamic and Francophone cultures.

Learn from Professor Brian Valente-Quinn, who has conducted extensive fieldwork in Senegal specifically about theater. No language background required.

Immerse yourself in conservation biology from the comfort of your home and earn four credits in two and a half weeks on this virtual program. This program is very affordable (around $3,000 total), and you pay less than you would for the same amount of credits (4) at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥.

Learn about Brazil's other tropical forest—the Atlantic Forest, a threatened center of faunal and floral biodiversity. Participate in individual and group projects related to on-going, fully operational wildlife and landscape conservation programs, coupled with socioeconomic development. Learn directly from local practitioners and gain in-depth experience through daily synchronous class sessions that will connect you with IPÊ's research programs in the Pontal do Paranapanema region of western São Paulo state, Iguaçu Falls National Park (Brazil) and other sites throughout Brazil.

Guest lecturers will be IPÊ research scientists and government environmental agency personnel. Study with Timothy Kittel, who has more than 35 years of professional experience in global comparative ecosystem and climate geography.
