Building on African American intellectual traditions, Hodge will re-envision the relationship between freedom and love in the struggle for liberation.

Hodge is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder (full bio). As a critical race scholar, Hodge is concerned with how systems of oppression and marginalization inform the identities, discursive practicesÌýand experiences of African Americans. She employs a critical race theoretical approach to identity,ÌýcultureÌýand language.
