A new ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder study finds that drier summers and a decline in average snowpack over the past 40 years have severely hampered the establishment of fir and spruce trees in subalpine regions of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s Front Range, suggesting that climate warming is already taking a toll on forest health in some areas of the state, says ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder researcher Robert Andrus, lead author of the study.
