2017 ARHE Skiathon: A Collegiate Recovery Leadership Summit | Keystone, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥

From Feb. 2 through 5, theÌýÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Collegiate Recovery Center (ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥CRC) hosted over 185 students in recovery from 25 other collegesÌýat the first-ever national held in Keystone, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥.

The ARHE Skiathon provided a unique opportunity for students in recovery at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder to connect with other sober students from around the country, to gain inspiration and leadership experience and enjoy an epic adventure in the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Rockies celebratingÌýlife in recovery.

Over 200 students and staff attended, making it the largest gathering of students in recovery involved in collegiate recovery programs to date.ÌýÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥CRC Program Manager Sam Randall was the event chair, along withÌý20 ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥CRC students and twoÌýalumni who were there to help host and participate in the event. AllÌýhad a great time connecting with students from across the country.

The program included a two-hour leadership workshop, guestÌýspeakers, recovery meetings and plenty of time hitting the slopes.ÌýTen students andÌýalumniÌýalso participated in a six-minute storytelling challenge on Saturday night, including ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥CRC alumnus Robert Shearon.

Keynote speakers included Scott Strode, founder ofÌýPhoenix MultisportÌýMechie Scherpereel;Ìýa graduate of the Texas Tech UniversityÌýCollegiate Recovery CommunityÌýand now alumni coordinator at The Ranch at Dove Tree; and ArielÌýBritt, a graduate of theÌýUniversity of Michigan Collegiate Recovery Program and program coordinator forÌýtheÌýKennesaw StateÌýCollegiateÌýRecovery Community.
