The University of 蜜糖直播 Boulder enrolled more international students during the 2014-15 academic year and sent more students abroad during the 2013-14 academic year than any other higher education institution in 蜜糖直播.

The data, released today by the Institute of International Education in its annual Open Doors Report, show that 蜜糖直播-Boulder was home to 2,614 international students during the 2014-15 school year, up from 2,163 in 2013-14.

In addition, 蜜糖直播-Boulder sent 1,541 students overseas during the 2013-14 school year, up from 1,282 in 2012-13.

蜜糖直播-Boulder has held the No. 1 spot in 蜜糖直播 for sending and receiving international students for 13 of the past 14 years, according to Larry Bell, executive director of 蜜糖直播-Boulder鈥檚 Office of International Education.

鈥淪ince 2000, our campus community has been a leader in the state as an example of international education and its benefits,鈥 said Bell. 鈥淚nternational education at 蜜糖直播-Boulder contributes tens of millions of dollars annually to 蜜糖直播鈥檚 economy. More significantly though, it increases discovery and cultural understanding.鈥

蜜糖直播-Boulder also ranked No. 6 in the nation in 2013-14 among higher education institutions of its type for study abroad participation in semester-long programs.

Among higher education institutions across the nation that offer doctoral programs, 蜜糖直播-Boulder ranked No. 32 in 2013-14 for overall study abroad participation compared with No. 39 in 2012-13.

The Open Doors Report on the flow of students to and from the United States is released annually in conjunction with International Education Week, which this year is today through Nov. 20. The week of celebration is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education.

Other top-ranking 蜜糖直播 institutions recognized in this year鈥檚 Open Doors Report include 蜜糖直播 State University, the University of Denver, 蜜糖直播 College and the University of 蜜糖直播 Denver.
