Philosophy and Environmental Studies Professor Alan Carter will continue the Chancellor's Community Lecture series with his presentation, "Evolution and the Problem of Altruism" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at The Academy.

Located at 970 Aurora Ave. in Boulder, the lecture series at The Academy is free and open to the public, and is co-sponsored by The Academy and the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder Office of Community Affairs.

Professor Carter received his doctoral degree from Oxford in 1987. He came to ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder in 2001 after teaching at the University of London for 11 years.

His publications include "A Radical Green Political Theory" and "The Philosophical Foundations of Property Rights." His areas of interest include environmental ethics and political philosophy. He is currently working on a book regarding Green moral theory.
