A director of the venture capital firm that funded Yahoo!, E*Trade and GeoCities will speak on Tuesday, April 24, to a University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder College of Business class.

Bradley Feld, a managing director of Softbank Venture Capital, will speak at 3:30 p.m. in room 100 of the Mathematics Building, located at the corner of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Avenue and Folsom Street. The talk, which is part of the college's Profiles in American Enterprise class, is free and open to the public.

SBVC is a California-based venture capital firm that manages more than $2 billion. Feld will talk about his experiences as an entrepreneur and discuss current issues in the world of e-commerce.

Feld is one of nine managing directors at SBVC. While still in college, in 1985, he started his first company, Feld Technologies, which soon became a $2 million company. He sold his company to AmeriData Technologies after earning his master's degree in 1988 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and then moved up the corporate ladder to become chief technology officer of AmeriData. Feld joined SBVC in 1997.

SBVC is an affiliate of Softbank Corp., currently ranked 44th on the Financial Times Global 500 List and the world's leading investor in Internet startup companies. SBVC has offices in California and Superior, Colo.

Feld will speak as part of the College of Business's Profiles in American Enterprise course, which is a requirement for all business majors. It features entrepreneurial leaders and Fortune 500 executives speaking to students on issues facing the marketplace and also offering them career advice. Founded in 1987, Profiles is now one of the most popular classes on campus.
