On Saturday, March 17, Nikolay Malyshev, head of Russia's federal program on the application of information technologies to education, will tour high-tech classrooms at EduQuest, 1059 N. Yosemite St., Building 758, from noon to 2 p.m. on the site of the former Lowry Air Force Base.
Malyshev is visiting ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ as part of an effort to develop distance education in Russia in cooperation with leading schools and industries around the world. His March 14-19 visit is sponsored by the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder with support from an Excellence Grant awarded by the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Commission on Higher Education.
Malyshev is a member of the Russian Academy of Science and has been an adviser to the president of Russia on science and higher education. He visited three ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ campuses and also met with ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ President Elizabeth Hoffman, state officials and industry executives during his visit.
