"The Information Revolution: Silicon Valley and the American West"

A lecture on "The Information Revolution: Silicon Valley and the American West" will be presented on March 1 by Douglas S. Robertson of the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder.

The lecture will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder's Old Main Chapel and is presented by the Center of the American West. The event is free and open to the public.

Robertson is a member of the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Center for Chaos and Complexity, a fellow of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences and an adjoint professor of geological sciences. He is the author of "The New Renaissance: Computers and the Next Level of Civilization" published by Oxford University Press.

Robertson will address the role the Silicon Valley and the American West played in the development of modern computer technology and will explore some of the important consequences of the information revolution.
