People planning to attend commencement at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder on Friday morning, May 12, are encouraged to leave ample time for driving, particularly people arriving via U.S. 36.
Traffic volume is expected to be about half of game-day traffic during ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥Â’s football season, which sometimes clogs the Turnpike even without construction delays. Because of construction work along U.S. 36, similar tie-ups could result, although all lanes reportedly will be open.
"WeÂ’ve been told by Broomfield project engineers that all lanes should be open Boulder-bound on U.S. 36 Friday morning," said Joe Roy, director of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥Â’s Parking and Transit Services.
Lanes recently have been closed for the 80th Street bridge rebuilding and the Interlocken interchange at 96th Street and U.S. 36, but no lane closures are scheduled for Friday morning, Roy said.
Nevertheless, motorists are advised to leave ample time for the trip and to get parked once they arrive on campus.
