The Real Estate Center at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-BoulderÂ’s College of Business and Administration and the National Association of Industrial Office Properties, will co-host a conference on Friday, Feb. 26, examining global real estate capital markets.
"When $600 billion talks – you’d better listen!" is the theme of this year’s conference, which will be held at the downtown Denver Marriott. More than 350 real estate and development professionals are expected to attend.
In the morning session, nationally known speakers will discuss world influences on real estate capital, the evolution of real estate capital sources over the past few years, and the future of the field. The speakers include: Hasty Johnson, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Hines Interests; Lee S. Neibart, partner, Apollo Real Estate Advisors; Owen D. Thomas, managing director, Morgan Stanley & Co.; and Stephen R. Blank, senior resident fellow for real estate finance, the Urban Land Institute. Blank was formerly with CBIC Oppenheimer.
During the luncheon, the future of the REIT Industry will be discussed. In the afternoon, Tom Marsico of Marsico Capital Management, and Rick Pederson of Frederick Ross Co., will discuss the international, national and local economies, address the intersection of equity and real estate markets and debate the future of investing. Later in the day, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ developers will present their capital source programs as they are applied to specific projects and will discuss why they are using different debt/equity programs.
The conference fee of $175 includes a continental breakfast, lunch, a cocktail and networking reception and a conference notebook. Continuing education credit is available.
