More than 300 students, faculty and alumni of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥-Boulder's MBA program will volunteer their time to various non-profit organizations on National Make a Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 24.
Eight Boulder County agencies – including Boulder Valley Schools, the Humane Society and Boulder Community Safe House – have designed projects for the MBA teams to work on.
"The College is fortunate to have a group of graduate students so committed to community service," said Interim Dean Dipankar Chakravarti. "They are a bright and active group."
MBA student Rob Cassidy is coordinating the event and says response has been fantastic. "The students are eager to help organizations that need it," he said.
Volunteers will meet at the Fiske Planetarium at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, and will disperse to various organizations from 9: 45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will then return to Fiske for a celebration picnic.
Make A Difference Day was created in 1992 by USA Weekend magazine, in partnership with The Points of Light Foundation, as a day to spend helping others. Organizers expect more than 1.3 million Americans to participate in activities across the country.
Alumni of the MBA program who would like to participate in volunteer activities should contact Rob Cassidy at 303-545-9145.
