Montrose will host an exhibit of Southwestern archaeology as part of the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ This Summer cultural outreach program from the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ at Boulder.
The exhibit, “Exploring Yellow Jacket: The Anasazi Site that Continues to Grow,” will be from June 24 through Sept. 1 at the Montrose Pavilion, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ This SummerÂ’s local sponsor. Hours are weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The exhibit shows 30 years of archaeological research by University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Museum Curator Joe Ben Wheat on the architecture and artifacts retrieved from excavations near Yellow Jacket, Colo.
More than 300,000 people throughout ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ have enjoyed ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ This Summer offerings over the nine years of the popular community outreach program of art and museum exhibits and music and dance performances.
ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ This Summer cultural events are sponsored by each community for the enrichment of residents and summer visitors. The host communities this year are Brighton, Burlington, Cortez, Durango, Estes Park, Grand Junction, La Junta, Lamar and Pueblo, as well as Montrose.
ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ This Summer sponsorship is shared by the host communities and the Boulder Campus Outreach Council, the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Office of Business and Community Relations, the department of theater and dance, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Art Galleries, the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Museum and the College of Music with support from the Office of Public Relations.
