Tools we use at the Office of Space Optimization.
AssetWorks
- replaced Archibus as the space management software we use in 2022 with their AiM Facilities Management Software.
- AssetWorks products were selected in 2020 to replace FAMIS and Archibus for use with integrated work management, asset tracking, and space management among other functions.
- We use AssetWorks to store all of our space data for campus, including all of the buildings and rooms owned or operated by ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder and their connected CAD floor plans.
- AssetWorks allows us to be on the same software as our Facilities Management counterparts, and also has a for conducting space surveys on campus.

Tableau
- Tableau is an advanced data analytics software that we use for customizing space reports and dashboards.
- We use Tableau to tap into our Archibus space database and can add connections to other space and utilization data sources such as class scheduling.
- With Tableau we can create customized reports on space information for campus as well as advanced charts, maps, and other visualizations to better understand our space data and utilization on campus.

Previously Used Tools
- Archibus was decomissioned as the space management system in late 2021 with the implementation of .
- Archibus was selected in 2016 to be the designated space management tool for campus to ensure all data and reporting is consistent and in one place, enabling robust study of space utilization.
- We use Archibus to store all of our space data for campus, including all of the buildings and rooms on campus, building layouts, room types, which department/unit is allocated to each room, and a variety of other useful data.Ìý
- Archibus has many other features available to us, including a web interface with space dashboards as well as the ability to do long term strategic space planning
- Archibus replaced our previous space management system, FAMIS, when implementation began in 2017 and continued through 2018.
