Preparing for Graduate School
Graduate programs in speech-language pathology and audiology are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA), a branch of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). In addition to completing undergraduate SLHS coursework, all SLHS graduate programs require that students take coursework in the areas of statistics, biological science, physics or chemistry, and social science. Thus, students who plan to continue onto graduate school in speech pathology or audiology should take courses in these areas as part of their undergraduate degree. The SLHS undergraduate Academic Advisor, Raphael Angoulvant, can provide suggestions of specific courses that will meet these graduate school pre-requisites. It is strongly recommended that you keep a copy of the syllabi for the courses you take to fulfill these requirements as this may be requested by the graduate program you attend.
