The QA/QI Program's Purpose

Why was a QA/QI Program Devoloped?

The QA/QI Program was developed to ensure that research being done on campus meets compliance requirements of the regulations that govern them, and also to educate and assist ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥'s dedicated faculty in helping them navigate regulations and confirming the integrity of their work. ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ is committed to the continuous improvement in how research is being conducted on campus.

Why is Quality Assurance (QA) Necessary in Research?

Quality Assurance seeks to assess whether process requirements, put in place to avoid problems and deliver solutions, are being met. In regards to research, QA is vital to reducing liability inherent to working with human subjects or export controlled technologies, securing the public's trust, ensuring continuous funding and securing the integrity of data and publications. In general, QA concepts can be applied to minimize the risk that world-class research being done at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ takes on by pushing the envelope of scientific knowledge as we know it.
