Human-Centered Robotics

Human-centered robotics strives to support interactions between humans and robotic systems by developing intuitive and responsive technologies based on characterizations of human needs. Human-centered robotics focuses on designing robots and robotic systems that enhance human capabilities, prioritize user needs, and seamlessly integrate into everyday environments. 

Courses in this area teach students how to assess usability, safety, and adaptability from the human perspective, and how to build these qualities into robotic systems. Graduate students in this field combine multi-disciplinary methods that improve our understanding of the interactions between humans and robotic systems.
