Turkish composer, performer and educatorÌýEgemen Kesikli strives to promote diversity in contemporary music. His composition catalogue varies from orchestral works and concertos to chamber works featuring traditional Anatolian instruments and unconventional ensemble formations. Egemen earned a doctorate in composition at the University of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder College of Music and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.ÌýHis mentors have includedÌýCarter Pann, Timothy Mahr, Sonia SeemanÌýand Güher and Süher Pekinel.
In addition to his role at the College of Music, Egemen currently serves as Instructor of Music Theory at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ State University. When he’s not composing, performing or teaching, he enjoys cooking and collaborating on various arts projects with his family.
