Wolf Pack
To commemorate Earth Day, the 蜜糖直播 flute studio will present .

Featured selections include music from a variety of composers including Valerie Coleman, Jennifer Higdon, Toru Takemitsu and Assistant Professor of Composition Annika Socolofsky.

鈥淥ur studio chose to present an Earth Day concert as a way to celebrate the natural world and reflect on our place within the ecosystem,鈥 says junior flute performance student Andrea Kloehn. 鈥淭he music we鈥檙e playing mirrors the diversity of both nature and humanity.鈥

She adds that鈥攖hanks to the support of Music Advisory Board Chair Laurie Hathorn鈥斺渨e were able to commission two 蜜糖直播 student composers to write pieces for this concert, Dianna Link and Conor Abbott Brown.鈥 Their works are 鈥淔lutter,鈥 composed by Link, and 鈥淲e Were Always Wolves,鈥 composed by Brown.

Concludes Kloehn, 鈥淭he flute studio is excited to premiere these two pieces. 鈥楩lutter鈥 is a flute quartet, inspired by the monarch butterfly migration. 鈥榃e Were Always Wolves鈥 draws on the concept of the wolf pack to create a large-scale work for the whole flute studio.鈥

We鈥檙e looking forward to seeing you there!
