What does it mean to be a compliance officer in your field?

The mission of a compliance officer is to promote the knowledge of and adherence of NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations in the community, amongst university and department staff, as well as with student-athletes.  A compliance officer monitors such rules and regulations, thereby reducing infractions that may otherwise occur.

What might a “typicalâ€‌ work day look like for you?

There is no typical work day for a compliance officer, as it varies based on the time of year, which sports are in-season and events that have occurred amongst our constituents. Eligibility reviews, providing interpretations, investigating potential violations and creating educational documents could all take place within one day.

What do you enjoy about working in compliance?

There is never a dull moment in athletics compliance, and the real sense of accomplishment comes from seeing the success of our student-athletes in the classroom and in their respective competitive arenas.
