Current opening for tenure track Assistant Professor faculty position

The Institute for Behavioral Genetics, University of أغجاض±²¥ Boulder, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship with an academic appointment in an appropriate department. We anticipate that the appointment will begin in August 2025.

The Institute seeks to build on its strength in neurodegeneration and behavioral genetics research. Successful candidates should have a robust background in neurogenetics, high-content genomics, and experience with iPSC-derived neurons and glia and neural organoids. Preference will be given to those with expertise in neurodegeneration, particularly in using patient-derived iPSC lines and single-cell genomics and/or human-animal chimeric translational research. Appointees will participate in the research and teaching missions of the Institute and their academic department, which can include the Department of Integrative Physiology or the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. This is the first of two hires focused on neurodegeneration, with a second hire in 2026 in the BioFrontiers Institute.

Please contact search committee chair Charles Hoeffer at Charles.Hoeffer@colorado.edu for more information about this position. Application review will begin October 1, 2024, and will close December 1, 2024.

A third, jointly with the Institute of Behavioral Sciences and funded by the National Institute on Aging, currently supports two postdoctoral fellows and two predoctoral students. Individuals interested in applying for a postdoctoral fellowship should initially contact a Faculty Fellow with whom they would wish to work.

Individual faculty at the Institute are routinely hiring talented postdoctoral researchers to contribute to the various programs of research at IBG. If you are interested in working with an IBG faculty member, please contact them.
