Join the Student Organization Allocations Committee (SOAC) at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder

We're excited to share an opportunity for passionate individuals to make a significant impact on our campus. The Student Organization Allocations Committee (SOAC), a pivotal branch of the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Student Government (ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥SG), is looking for dedicated members to join their team. Our mission is to distribute student fee dollars efficiently, promoting enrichment, education, and inclusiveness across the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder community.

What SOAC Does SOAC plays a crucial role in fostering a vibrant student life by allocating funds to student organizations. We aim to make decisions from a neutral viewpoint, acknowledging the importance of inclusivity and providing every student organization with the support they need to thrive.

Key Information:

  • Meeting Times: SOAC convenes every Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:15 PM for funding hearings. These sessions are essential for discussing and deciding on the allocation of funds.
  • Compensation: Each board member receives a bi-weekly stipend of $150 for their contributions to the committee.
  • Dress Code: The board maintains a casual atmosphere, so formal attire is not required.
  • Eligibility: In accordance with the SFR's (Student Fee Regulations), it is important to note that no ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥SG Proper or Joint Board employee shall be paid for performing two jobs within ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥SG Proper or a Joint Board at the same time. This ensures dedication and focus on the SOAC role.

Important Dates:

  • The last day for SOAC hearings this academic year is April 3, 2024. Please note that SOAC does not meet over school-deemed breaks or holidays, allowing members to enjoy their time off.
