Nick grew up playing sports and skiing in Northern California and eventually found a passion for the study of history and classics. He went on to earn a BA and an MA from Fresno State and a PhD from UCLA. After graduation, he came to ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ to continue his research and teach ancient history at the University of Denver; during this time, he also played in several bands in the local music scene in Denver. He published his first book, Thebes: A History, with Routledge in 2017 and is currently researching and writing another book on citizen-soldiers in the ancient Middle East and Mediterranean. He is new to academic advising and excited about the opportunity to support students in their academic pursuits at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Boulder. Nick loves traveling and spending time outdoors with his partner Christine.
