Course Description
As the world’s population continues to rise toward an expected 10 billion citizens within the next few decades, it is increasingly clear that taking a business-as-usual approach will not ensure a high quality of life for everyone. Today’s students are aware of this. Moreover, they are highly motivated to create a future that provides both economic success while simultaneously assuring a more socially equitable and environmentally sustainable planet. This course aims to provide students the knowledge to realize their vision, by integrating sustainability principles into technology and engineering-intensive businesses.

Why should you take this course?Â
This is a practical course that introduces students to the techniques and methodologies used to incorporate sustainability practices into new and existing businesses. The course involves a semester-long project where students can apply these principles in their own work-setting, create new product concepts that address today’s challenges, or even plan for an entrepreneurial startup with sustainability as its foundation.
