Dual Graduate Degrees

The Engineering Management Program encourages master’s students to merge their technical master’s degree with a leadership-focused management degree and pursue a dual-degree program.  The combination of technical expertise and organizational skills is one of the most promising avenues towards high-level responsibility and career success. 

Available Dual Degrees

Dual degrees are available from the following departments, but may not necessarily be available for all degree tracks: 

Aerospace Engineering Sciences

  • MS Traditional Aerospace Engineering Sciences and ME Engineering Management
  • MS Professional Aerospace Engineering Sciences and ME Engineering Management

Computer Science

  • MS Professional Computer Science and ME Engineering Management

Electrical, Computer & Energy Engineering

  • ME Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering and ME Engineering Management
  • MS Professional Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering and ME Engineering Management

Mechanical Engineering

  • MS Professional Mechanical Engineering and ME Engineering Management

Admissions Process:

  1. Apply first to Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering departments. As part of your application, there is a question that asks whether you would like to be considered for the dual degree with Engineering Management. By answering "yes" your application will be forwarded to Engineering Management once a decision (admit or deny) has been made. *Although other programs do not require English proficiency scores for applicants from India, Engineering Management does, please provide in your application to be considered for the dual degree.
  2. Once you have been admitted to Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management will review your application for possible acceptance to the dual degree. If admitted to the dual degree, Engineering Management will send an additional admissions letter requesting confirmation of adding Engineering Management to complete the dual degree.
  3. If you have been denied admission by Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering, you may still be eligible for admission to Engineering Management. Engineering Management will reach out to confirm you would like to still be considered for Engineering Management only. If admitted, Engineering Management will request a program change and send an admission letter for Engineering Management only.
  4. If you have been admitted to Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering and did not select "yes" to be considered for the dual degree and/or you have been admitted to a prior term, please reach out to emp@colorado.edu to be considered for the dual degree. Engineering Management will review your application and ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ record to determine eligibility. If admitted, Engineering Management will send an admission letter with the request to confirm that Engineering Management should be added to your record to complete the dual degree.
  5. If you have been admitted to Engineering Management and would like to add the dual degree, please reach out to Aerospace, Electrical, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering to inquire about adding their program to complete the dual degree.
