Navigation is the structure of your site; menus are labels of your website; these are how your users can find information and pages on your site.

Breadcrumbs

Breadcrumbs are the set of links near the top of the page that show the path to the current page. For example, this page's breadcrumbs are Home > Web Express Core > Navigation & Menus as in the screenshot below (and displayed on this page).

Child Menu Item

A "child" menu item is nested under another menu item, which is referred to as the “parent” menu item. In the screenshot example below, "WYSIWYG Content Editor" and "Shortcodes" are child pages of the "Content Styling" page.

Footer Menu

The footer menu appears in the footer region of the site, below the page content. The example below is a screenshot of the bottom portion of a site – "Web Express Tips and Tricks" and "A-Z Directory Tutorials" are part of the footer menu.

Parent Menu Item

Menu items can have hierarchical relationships in Web Express. The "parent" item is the first order item and items nested under the parent item are called "child/children". In the screenshot example below, "Content Styling" is the parent page of the child pages "WYSIWYG Content Editor" and "Shortcodes".

Secondary Menu

Secondary menu items are aligned to the right and either appear above the main navigation or inline with the main navigation. In the screenshot example below, the secondary manu item is "How to Use This Site" which is placed inline with the main navigation.

The subnavigation consists of the child pages under the main menu. The subnavigation can be placed in the right or left sidebars. Below is a screenshot example of subnavigation.
