CFP: We are now accepting submissions!

We invite submissions on any historical or contemporary topic, from either a scientific or philosophical perspective, regarding complexity, reduction, or emergence. Aiming for both depth and breadth, we welcome cutting-edge work at any level of specificity or generality.

Faculty are invited to submit an abstract (1000 words max). Graduate students are invited to submit full papers of 3000-4000 words. All submissions should be prepared for blind review and should be suitable for a 30-minute presentation. Submissions are due January 15, 2025 and should be sent as an email attachment in pdf format to heather.demarest@colorado.edu.  Acceptances will be announced by February 15, 2025. Graduate stipend: Graduate students whose papers are accepted will be offered a modest stipend of $100 to help offset travel expenses.
