Program Manager/Science Team

Sam Honan has been on STEAM since the Summer of 2021. She is double majoring in Aerospace Engineering and Astrophysics. Sam’s favorite hobbies are building rockets and rocket motors. Her favorite space object is SpaceX’s Starship.

Structures Team

Alex Fitzgerald joined STEAM in the Spring of 2022, and is working towards a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He enjoys hiking and playing Smash Bros with his roommates. Alex's favorite space mission is the Ingenuity Helicopter.

Science Lead

Gabriela Galarraga has been on the STEAM team since Spring 2021. She is working towards a double major in both Physics and Astrophysics. Her favorite hobbies are playing video games, playing the cello and going on outdoor adventures. Gabriela’s favorite space object is the SpaceX Starship.

Mary Hanson has worked on the STEAM team since Fall 2019.  She graduated in May 2022 with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and minors in Astronomy, Engineering Management, and Space.  Her favorite hobbies are indoor gardening and hanging out with her gecko.  Her favorite space mission is .

Hope Reynolds joined the STEAM team in fall 2023.

Skyler Puckett joined the STEAM team in the Fall of 2022. Skyler is majoring in Aerospace Engineering and is expected to graduate in May 2025. His favorite hobby is rock climbing and his favorite space mission is Parker Solar Probe.

Nileshkartik Ashokkumar joined STEAM in the Fall of 2022.

Nicholas Haratsaris joined STEAM in February 2022 and is pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He enjoys hiking, playing soccer, and skiing. After graduating, he wants to work with renewable energy development.

Avionics Team

Jacob Seman is an Electrical and Computer Engineering major at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Mesa University. He joined STEAM in May 2022, and is expected to graduate in 2025. Jacob's favorite hobbies are fishing with his kids, and building and flying long range FPV UAVs. His favorite space missions are the Apollo missions and the Ingenuity Helicopter.

Aaron Pickens has been on the STEAM team since Fall 2019. He graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2021 and has started a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. His favorite hobbies include rock climbing, scuba diving, and playing chess. After graduating, Aaron wants to work on robotics in spaceflight and satellite applications and work at JPL or MAXAR.

Jeffrey Azuma started working on STEAM in May 2022. He is pursuing a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. Jeffrey enjoys building models and his favorite space related thing is the X-15 for its unique blend of spacecraft and aircraft-related technologies.

Terry Vis joined STEAM in Spring 2021 while working towards degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Violin Performance.  His favorite hobbies include hiking, biking, and board games.  His favorite thing in space is the Perseverance rover.       

Systems Engineer

Daniel Mathews joined the STEAM team in the spring of 2022. He graduated with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering in May 2022 and pursued a masters degree in Aerospace Engineering to graduate in May 2023.

Ravin Chowdhury double majored in Physics and Astrophysics to graduate in Spring 2023. He joined the STEAM team in May 2022. His favorite hobbies are playing piano and ukelele. After graduating, his plan is to go to grad school for astrophysics.

Carson Sandiford-Hoxie joined STEAM in the summer of 2022.

Isabella Katzman worked on the STEAM Structures team from 2019-2020. She graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. She is now a Systems Engineer at Atomos Space.

Skylar Edwards has been working on STEAM from Fall 2019 through Summer 2021.  She is majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Engineering Management.  Her plans after graduation are to pursue a Masters in Bioastronautics or work in Space Medicine and Human Space Flight Programs. Skylar started her work at COSGC with the project JANE before working on STEAM.

Martin Diaz joined the STEAM Avionics team in the Spring of 2020 and graduated in August 2021 with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His favorite hobbies are hiking with his dog, Bean, and gaming. Martin is now adventuring around the San Jose area while developing himself as a Field Application Engineer for Xilinx.

Anton Vandenberge worked on STEAM in the Spring and Summer of 2021. He is expected to graduate with an Electrical and Computer Engineering degree. His favorite hobbies are 3D printing, hiking, and anything to do with being on a lake. After serving in the Marines, Anton attended Red Rocks Community College, where he met Cassidy Bliss, who got him interested in COSGC. His first COSGC project was a radio telescope project using a satellite dish that RRCC purchased in 1993.

Alfredo Restrepo worked with STEAM in the Summer of 2021. He is majoring in Aerospace Engineering with minors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His hobbies include basketball, cless, weightlifting, and UAVs. His favorite space mission is SpaceX landing the Falcon 9 Heavy.

Annie O’Connor joined the STEAM team in Fall 2019 and  graduated in May 2021 with an Astrophysics degree. She is now working for the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI)

Alvin Angeles joined STEAM in the Fall of 2019 and graduated in May 2021 with a degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics. After graduation, Alvin worked at Space Foundation where he was responsible for creating and implementing a range of educational outreach programs that support STEM. He is now getting his doctorate in physics at the University of New Hampshire with a concentration on solar and space sciences.

Cassidy Bliss worked on the STEAM team from Fall 2019 to Summer 2021.

Owen Ahlers joined STEAM in the Summer of 2020 and graduated in May 2021 with a degree in Astrophysics. Owen now works as a software developer for the Space Weather Prediction Center at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Systems Engineer

Ahmed Adam was the STEAM Systems Engineer from Fall 2019 to Spring 2022. He is working toward Bachelors degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. Prior to working on STEAM, he started his work with COSGC on RocketSat-13 in the second semester of his freshman year. Ahmed’s favorite hobbies are skateboarding and working on the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Hyperloop team.

Sam Diaz started working on STEAM in Fall 2019 and graduated in May 2022 with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Sam is now working as a Field Application Engineer at AMD.

Bharath Raj Govindaraju worked on STEAM during the spring 2022 semester.

Kanin McGuire worked on STEAM from the Spring of 2021 until he graduated in the Spring of 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  His favorite hobbies are hiking, fishing and gaming.  His favorite space mission is the James Webb Telescope.

Erid Pineda worked on STEAM during the spring 2022 semester.

Chad Pflieger was on STEAM from Spring 2021 to Spring 2022. He graduated in May 2022 with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Communications.  Chad’s favorite hobbies are hiking, skiing, playing guitar, and watching movies. His favorite space missions are the Apollo Missions because they are the pinnacle of human space exploration to this date. He also likes the Starship by SpaceX because it is the greatest potential for the next phase of space exploration.

Zoe Zier was on STEAM from the Spring of 2021 to the Spring of 2022.  She will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering.  Her favorite hobbies are biking and being outdoors.  After graduating, Zoe wants to work for NASA and/or a Formula One team.

Nick Vail joined STEAM as a member of the science team from September of 2021 to April of 2022 and is working towards a bachelor’s degree in astrophysics with a philosophy minor. His favorite non-academic activities include , fitness, and travel. After graduation Nick plans to attend law school and build both for-profit and not-for-profit/charity businesses focused on finding solutions to problems brought about or exacerbated by the progress of climate change. 

Science Team

Sarah Borduik joined the STEAM team in May of 2021. She graduated in May 2022 with a bachelors degree in Computer Science and minors in both Space and Music Technology. Her favorite hobbies include backpacking, fly fishing, winning in Mario Kart, and roller skating. Sarah’s favorite space objects are the golden records attached to Voyager 1 & 2. She hopes to someday work at NASA or SpaceX to help with the first manned mission to Mars

Ajay Dhindsa worked on STEAM from February 2022 to August 2022. He graduated in May 2022 with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering.

Connor Jarolimek joined the STEAM team in Fall 2020. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Business in May 2022. His favorite hobbies include snowboarding, basketball, volleyball, or anything else outdoors. His favorite space mission is the Hubble Telescope.
