Cryosphere
Overview
Researchers in ATOC strategically combine observations and models to increase understanding of the weather and climate in the Arctic and the Antarctic. Our research interests are broad and include atmospheric, oceanic, sea ice, land ice processes and their coupled interactions. We also study how polar processes interact with and influence atmospheric and oceanic processes at lower latitudes. To advance our research agendas, we develop and analyze regional and global models. We also observe cryospheric processes using remote sensing and in situ observations.
